How to Install a DOORBRIM Door Hood on a Mobile Home.

Collect the following tools and materials to easily install a DOORBRIM door hood.

Required Tools:

– A 2′ level
– A drill motor with 5/16″ socket driver
– A 5/16″ socket and ratchet

Things Needed?

– A standard 52″ DOORBRIM door hood
– A 9oz. tube of silicone caulking
– QTY 7-1/4″ self tapping screws
– QTY 7-1″x 5/8″ washers

Steps to configure the How-to Schema:

Step 1

Open the door. Using the door hood as a template, mark the top of the door hood flange insuring there is a minimum 1″ gap between the top of the door and the bottom of the door hood.

Step 2

Level the door hood and mark all 7 holes. Remove the door hood and drill out each hole with the 1/4″ self tapping screws, carefully removing all the screws so that just the holes are visible.

 
Step 3

Apply a bead of caulking to the inside flange of the door hood and around each hole. Then screw the door canopy to the trailer siding manually with the socket wrench being careful not to over tighten. Check underneath the door hood to insure there are no gaps or daylight and you are done.
